Position Summary

Injuries can affect one's performance and time away from work, but in the Air Force, it is critically important to have people who can help overcome these setbacks. From simple accidents to training injuries to wound recovery, Air Force Physical Therapists have a role in maintaining the health and readiness of more than 300,000 Airmen. Primary Responsibilities

Determine and implement treatments, policies and procedures pertaining to the physical therapy programs and activities for Airmen within medical facilities around the globe.
Through review of clinical records and case history, evaluate patients and determine the type and frequency of physical therapy treatment to assist in the rehabilitation of patients.
Administer physical therapy treatment to patients and supervise throughout recovery.
Work with an elite team of healthcare practitioners as an adviser and consult for matters related to physical therapy.

Qualifications

This is an active duty position as an Air Force Officer. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen age 18-48.
Must be willing to relocate.
For entry into this specialty, completion of a course in physical therapy acceptable to the Surgeon General, HQ USAF, is mandatory. Minimum educational entry is entry-level doctorate (DPT) or transitional (e.g., post-professional) DPT. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for exceptionally qualified candidates with a bachelor's or master's degree but who do not have a transitional DPT.
