QUALITY MANAGER - TalentZok (7475)
TalentZok specializes in staffing for administrative, engineering, manufacturing, and accounting positions. We are currently seeking a Quality Manager in a Manufacturing/Machine Shop Environment. Ideal candidate will have valve experience.

Quality Manager - Contractor

Principle Duties:

  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of applicable QA system manuals and supporting procedures.
  • Control the quality of purchased material, parts and services through surveys, qualification audits of facilities and parts, receiving inspection and source inspection.
  • In-process/final inspection and test.
  • Calibration & control of measuring and test equipment.
  • Procurement document control via review and acceptance of inclusion of special quality requirements.
  • QA program monitoring through internal audits.
  • QA/QC project engineering.
  • Maintain an effective nonconformance/corrective action system (MRB) with all NCMRs resolved in the shortest time possible.
  • Training and qualification of QA department personnel and quality related training assistance to other company personnel.
  • Maintain an effective warranty return process that assures customer satisfaction and drives improvements.
  • ISO Coordinator who drives improvements in our processes & procedures to not only meet ISO registration requirements but lean business practices.
  • Drive effective quality improvement with suppliers and internally to reduce cost of poor quality and lead time and improve our on-time delivery.
  • Utilize sound quality processes/practices to assure smooth, lean flow thru incoming material inspection (or dock-to-stock where appropriate).
  • Develop and implement processes to support supplier qualification, certification, and improvement.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a QA/QC Engineer, two of which must be in supervisory capacity.
  • A minimum of 4-years college is preferred in an Engineering discipline.
  • Technical expertise in functional areas including materials management and ERP, hands on knowledge of TQM, Process Improvement, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Working knowledge of the quality system requirements invoked by the ASME B & PV Code, Section III, NCA-4000, ANSI NQA-1, ISO 9000:2000, CE, PED and NIST requirements. MIL - I45208A desirable.
  • ISO 9000:2000 Lead Auditor Training preferred.
  • Positive Material Identification (PMI), Liquid Penetrant Test (LPT) Level I/II and Magpartical a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite software (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, MS project, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact based decisions using six sigma/lean methodology. Able to determine true root cause of problems and turn them into process improvement projects/opportunities.
  • Familiar with metal transforming commodities such as castings, forgings, and machining is desired.
  • Technical knowledge of environmental and safety laws and regulations desirable.
  • Leader who drives improvements in our processes, systems and performance thru active hands-on participation vs. just identifying targets of improvement based on data collection and analysis.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills combined with effective oral and written skills are required.
    • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and "raise the bar".
    • Ability to train inspectors and review performance of:
      • Non-destructive testing (NDT)
      • Layout (CMM)
      • Metallurgical Inspection - Positive Material Identification (PMI)
      • Liquid Penetrant Test (LPT) Level I/II
      • Magpartical Test
      • Calibration
      • Variable & Attribute Gauge use
      • Gauge R & R (GR&R)
      • Blueprint reading
      • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
      • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)
      • Fatigue Testing
      • Environmental Testing

  • Maintain an effective non-conformance/corrective action system with all NCMRs resolved in 14 days or less and 95% within 7 days. Stretch target is 95% within 24 hours and balance within 7 days.
  • Maintain an effective incoming inspection process that supports processing of all incoming material in 3 days or less.
